Schedule 9 Insurance Requirements

Have you tendered for a Alternative Provider Medical Services contract from a PCT recently?  If you have, you will be aware of the insurance requirements contained within the contract referred to as Schedule 9.  These requirements can vary dramatically from a normal GP surgery, with the levels of cover being higher and the interest of the PCT you are providing the services for being noted.

To tender for services you will need to provide the PCT with a Brokers letter of undertaking or all relevant insurance documents.  This means we will issue a letter to the PCT confirming that the policies you have taken out through us comply with the requirements of Schedule 9.

MIC can provide the following insurances to help you meet some of the tender process requirements:

• Public and Products Liability up to £25 million limit (on a single and excess layer basis)
• Medical Malpractice - £10 million any one claim and £25 million in the aggregate, costs in addition.
• Employers liability - £10 million limit.

• Business Interruption insurance
