What Is It?

The MIC Locum & Practice Expenses Insurance policy provides cover if you are unable to work due to illness or an accident this unique cover will cover your expenses, a locum or colleagues doing additional sessions “in-house” or a combination of all of these. There are also optional covers listed below. You decide what is best for your practice.

How Can You Benefit?

• A Group Practice Discount when insuring 3 or more and our premiums are the same for males and females or females and males (to stay politically correct).
• Free cover for Practice Managers or Senior Administrators of £300 per week when arranging your Locum and Absence Insurance for a Group Practice.
• A No Claims Bonus if you do not claim. Quite right too - Why should you pay the same as somebody who has made a claim.
• If we arrange you’re Surgery Building and Contents Insurance as well you can benefit from our long standing Valued Client Discount.
• Lastly, a seamless transfer when changing to the MIC Locum and Absence Insurance from another provider. .

Why MIC?

MIC was one of the first companies to introduce this type of cover to medical practices – some 15 years ago. We have over the years, with advice from Practice Managers and GPs, developed the MIC Locum and Absence Insurance and now insure thousands of GPs, Practice Managers and Practices throughout the UK.

Which Policy To Have?

There are two types of policy available, the Choices Locum & Practice Expenses Insurance policy and Simplicity Locum & Practice Expenses Insurance policy.  The choices policy is more adaptable and benefits from the 'continuity of cover' element, while the simplicity policy is as it sounds, simple.  The Continuity of Cover that we offer means that once terms are given at the start of the policy, those terms will not change at renewal for the benefit chosen, even if you have had a claim.  This is not to be confused with a policy that allows premiums to be paid by direct debit with an automatic renewal.
