A. Yes you can at any time, but you will have to complete a new application form for the extra benefit that you require and terms will be given on that increase.
Q. Do I have to employ a Locum?
A. No, if your partners take over your sessions the benefit is still payable.
Q. Does the Locum / Practice Expenses / PPIPs Insurance policy have a pre-existing condition exclusion?
A. No, we medically underwrite every application, which will enable us to issue an acceptance letter to you stating the terms.
Q. Does the Surgery Insurance include Employers and Public Liability?
A. Our Surgery Insurance cover does include Employers Liability up to £10 million and Public Liability up to £5 million as long as contents cover is provided.
Q. How long can I claim for under the Locum / Practice Expenses / PPIPs Insurance Policy?
A. You can claim for up to 52 weeks less the deferment period you select.
Q. If I were to claim on my Locum / Practice Expenses / PPIPs Insurance Policy would I be able to claim for the same condition again in the future?
A. The MIC Locum Insurance Policy provides 'continuity of cover' which means that once your application has been underwritten and you accept the terms that have been offered then as long as a condition has not been excluded then you can claim for the condition throughout the life of the policy, so long as you continue to renew the policy and pay the premium.
Q. Is anxiety and depression cover included in the Locum / Practice Expenses / PPIPs Insurance Policy?
A. Anxiety and depression are included within the Locum Insurance Policy as standard.
Q. Is the cover restricted to GP principals in the Locum Insurance Policy?
A. No, the cover can include salaried GP's, Practice Managers and Nurses. For all other staff we have a special Staff Sickness Scheme.
Q. What if I do not claim on our Locum / Practice Expenses / PPIPs Insurance Policy?
A. You can benefit from our No Claims Discount.
Q. What level of cover is provided by the Surgery Insurance Policy?
A. Our surgery insurance policy is an 'All Risks' policy, which means that it covers all standard risks, as well as accidental damage and walk in theft, something that is not always covered within a policy.
Q. What should I include when thinking about my buildings sum insured?
A. It should include the repair or replacement of the main fabric of the practice building or buildings. It should also cover walls, gates, car parks, roads, paths and underground service pipes and cables within the property.
